System Technician at the Swedish Armed Forces

We are currently seeking several system technicians with varying experience and skills.

Main Responsibilities

As a system technician, you play an important role where you, together with your colleagues in the team, are responsible for parts of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems. Your tasks include operation and management of systems, troubleshooting, various types of installations, handling backups, optimizing and changing server environments, and maintaining security in the systems. Reporting and documenting ongoing and completed work is seen as a natural part of the job. You will also be involved in planning and further development of systems.

We work process-oriented (ITIL) with support from agile methods. The position involves continuous learning of new technologies and products in a spirit of strengthening Sweden's defense. If you want to spend time on environmental monitoring and in-depth problem analysis, it is possible. Employees within the Swedish Armed Forces are given time for further development both internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • At least a high school education with a focus on IT/Technology and/or experience that we assess as equivalent.
  • At least two years of work experience in IT.
  • Current and relevant work experience with Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Experience with virtualization.
  • Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
  • Swedish citizenship.
  • Driver's license at least class B.

Meritorious

  • Work experience with Microsoft Exchange.
  • Work experience with IP telephony.
  • Work experience with Linux.
  • Work experience with monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge in IT security, encryption, and certificates.
  • Experience working in government or public service.

The employment form is a permanent civilian position, full-time, starting with a 6-month probationary period. The place of employment is Örebro, with immediate start or according to agreement. Business trips may occur in the work.
